Well, not only golfer´s can have good use of a golf umbrella. I once handed one over to the bridegroom when the sky opened as they just came out of church. The reason might not be obvious to everyone but an ordinary umbrella is too small to shelter a couple. And you can´t expect a newly married couple to separate with two umbrellas.
So golf umbrellas are bigger and the size is actually around 60-65 inches, which is just about 150-165 centimeters. Some a little smaller and you can also find some around 70 inches. Those are like having a tent, you are very well protected from rain. The big sizes of golf umbrellas are necessary as a golfer has to take care of a number of things and if possible also protect the golf bag.
If you have watched the professional golfers playing in rain you have probably also noticed that the player use big golf umbrellas. The caddie has no umbrella and on rare occasions you can see the caddie holding the umbrella for the pro. That seem to be the only time a caddie can get out of the rain. Of course it is important to protect the player, she or he is the one making money for them both.
When I was on the first tee of a golf round up in Virginia some years ago, it started to come short showers of rain. I simply had to buy a new umbrella golf umbrella and choose one with a dual canopy. A dual canopy has, as the name would suggest, a dual canopy design, this feature allows for any wind to blow through the umbrella while water will still run off of it.
By making the top half of the bottom canopy out of a mesh material and then putting a second shell that covers the mesh and runs about two inches past the seam, the rain will not come through the vented area. This is especially important when you take into account the size of the umbrella when opened. This will easily cover you and your bag.
How is that size possible without the thing weighing a ton? With a fiberglass shaft and spreaders, the umbrella is lightweight and lightning resistant. A push button opening mechanism makes it easy to open the umbrella with one hand. Most golf umbrellas I´ve had don´t use push button techniques simply because there is one more thing that can fail. But it sure is handy.
A golf umbrella will keep you dry for a full round of golf. If it wasn´t for the fact that you have to hit the ball from time to time. You will also get wet from walking in the grass, not to talk about lost balls in the ruff! There are times when a player just have to find the ball himself.
Golf umbrellas with the double canopy works great even when the wind pickes up a little bit. You will not fly away even it the size is really big.
Some golf umbrellas now have a ergonomic handle which cut down on fatigue from carrying it. The hand stays in a natural position. Thanks to the lightweight materials used in the construction, you can carry the umbrella without having it affect your swing due to muscle fatigue.
One drawback can be mentioned with the golf umbrellas in general. The size of it, while you want to have as much of yourself and your bag covered, when closed, the umbrella will protrude a good bit from your bag when it is not being used. This can make loading and unloading the bag a little difficult from your car.
When it has been in use you should not have it in your bag. The umbrella will get dry much faster if you can have it open and just give it some time.
A golf umbrella is great for anyone to use, it is large enough for two people to stay dry. The dual canopy will keep the umbrella from turning inside out in higher winds while not sacrificing any coverage.
Choose your umbrella with care and you can have it for many years. The one I bought in Virgina is seven years now, still working great but I must admit that the looks is not the best.

I ordered this product 3 weeks ago and still haven’t received it, it actually hasn’t shipped as of yet???? By the time I get it, I’m afraid the rain season will be over and snow will arrive.
Quite simply the best umbrellas I’ve ever owned. I guess everybody recognizes the quality because every time I leave one anywhere out of sight for more than a few minutes it gets stolen! Even at the golf club for goodness sake! It’s not like the people there can’t afford any umbrella they want…
The only caution that I have is that if you are a golfer make sure you get the fiberglas shaft model as there are other shaft types and the people selling them don’t always make that clear.
The first time I tried the umbrella out we were having high wind warnings, and I was very pleased because the umbrella did NOT invert! My only complaint is that it is hard to open and close. I wold have preferred an automatic opener.
I bought this umbrella a year ago from Amazon. I live on the waterfront in Jersey City and it is incredibly windy in the area, very strong winds and rain, sometimes so strong you can barely walk. I see all the time people with their umbrella reversed, trashcans full of broken umbrellas, people struggling to hold their umbrellas. Most often I can walk holding it with only one hand and I am fine with it, it has never flipped nor even shown any sign it would flip.
It is very spacious so for two people it is great, protects very well from the wind and the heavy rain. After a year of having it and using it extensively it still feel very sturdy and is in excellent shape, velcros still here and solid, handle didn’t move a bit, nothing loose on it. I would highly recommend it.
GustBuster is a great umbrella. A lot of careful considerations went into its construction. It is big enough to keep the rain out and the design prevents the umbrella from flipping inside out when heavy winds blow. I like the 2 velcro straps to secure the top and bottom of the umbrella when folded up. Also, I have not lost the umbrella since it is large and very brightly (but not distastefully) colored.
This umbrella has an excellent cost/benefit ratio. It’s big enough for the days of heavy rain and/or for two or three persons, the color is great because it looks diferent from most umbrellas, the material is good also.
The only complain i have is that it is a little loose in the ends so it is kind of easy to have one of them out, anyway they are also easy to put on the rigth place.

This is a nice big umbrella that can keep you and a friend dry in the rain. It is larger than most, but does not take up a lot of space when closed. Great to use when walking old people into doctor appointments.
We’ve used our Gustbuster umbrella a few times and it broke! The plastic hinges are prone to braking so handle with care. The ubrella has a warranty, but it will cost you $10 and shipping to get it fixed. I’ve had other golf type umbrellas with metal hinges that lasted a very long time, so be advised and treat with care.
I have two sons in elementary school. They are not permitted to carry umbrellas on the school bus, so rather than haul three umbrellas back to house after waiting with them on a rainy day, I purchased a GustBuster. It’s fantastic. All three of us can fit under the umbrella comfortably and stay drier than with individual smaller umbrellas. This is a great purchase for moms who may have to wait at a rainy school bus stop. I’m planning to purchase one for our crossing guard as a gift.
I build specialty umbrella holders….except for one problem this is the best umbrella….anywhere….period. It works as advertised in the wind and they will work with you on color combinations. The shipping is blindingly fast and the vocal interface is great. Oh yeah….the one problem….the rubber in the handles smells bad! I take the handles off anyway so it doesen’t bother me for long but if I left the rubber handle on I would have to do something with it.
The item I ordered from Amazon was extremely nice and certainly worth ordering. I ordered the 62” umbrella which is beautiful and worth ordering. Its an item which is useable and keeps its appeal. I would order it again, if necessary.
This may be a good umbrella. I will never know.
As soon as I opened it I discovered the large company logo on one panel of the umbrella. (I’ve posted a picture of the umbrella with logo with the other customer images above.) If the company wants me to carry around their advertising, they should put me on their advertising payroll. I would not have objected to a small tasteful logo, but not this garish ad.
I returned the umbrella for a refund. Too bad, because it may be a good umbrella.
One additional comment: This umbrella takes a significant amount of energy to open it. It may not be suitable for someone with impaired arm strength.
Not as large as a golf umbrella, but big enough for one person. I use this too as a “sun” umbrella since it looks summery. The quality is great and it opens quite easily and quickly at the push of a button. It’s also very attractive.
You cannot break it! It is too awesome and strong! Do not go into any rain without the Gust Buster!
I bought this to use when I walk our Borzoi, Lara, on windy and rainy days. It does the job nicely…
Works great in windy conditions. It doesn’t turn inside-out in the strongest winds. Very durable construction.
I like the navy blue color. I also like the fact that it no longer has the logo on the umbrella panels so it has a clean, professional look.

I was out in the rain the other day and the wind was picking up but I had no fear, the GustBuster was here. I could feel the wind tugging at it but you could tell the wind was no match, especially with the J handle. The handle and the tip of the Umbrella scratch pretty easy so be careful but other than that, it’s an awesome umbrella. I’ll recommend it to anyone.
